The Truth is Trust Matters

“The-truth-is-trust-matters”

If last week’s Downing Street action taught us anything it’s that trust matters.

Since the new leadership contest was announced I’ve been avidly looking out for the candidate who would give me cause for hope…

…Because these are the people elected to manage our future.

The UK government website states that 76% of adults in the UK were concerned about climate change (2021)

It doesn’t feel to me as though my voice (and millions of others like me) are represented by those elected to shape our future.

If we want change we use our voice and our vote right?

The same principle applies in business.

When we work for, buy from, and invest in businesses, we cast a vote of support.

So it has to be a vote for a business you can trust.

How as businesses can we prove that we have integrity?

It’s important for you because integrity is important to customers and employees.

Without trust your team and customers won’t stick around.

So, how can our business leaders prove that they have integrity and can be trusted to walk the talk?

It’s increasingly clear how important it is to customers, communities, employees, and voters.

Tony’s Chocolonely is a brand I trust (and love!)

Every time I buy a bar of salted caramel Tony’s Chocolonley (which I do regularly) not only do enjoy the taste of their incredible chocolate, I undo their wrapper and learn that my purchase is worth so much more.

I trust in them that my support helps fuel their mission to eliminate child slavery in the cocoa industry.

I know this because they communicate it super-clearly.

And when I bought my Patagonia jacket I did so trusting that I’d maybe never have to buy another, because if it breaks, they will fix it.

I trust in them because they have a solid business purpose, and it helps me to contribute to environmental issues.

As you know, we’re huge fans of B Corp, and that’s because that logo is a sign that the business has been through a rigorous assessment (B Impact Assessment) and has demonstrated its impact on its employees, the environment, communities and customers.

It’s a bit like seeing the kite mark for safety, or the Fairtrade mark for coffee.

It’s a sign of trust.

That’s why we at Uk for Good and B Corp UK are seeing a significant increase in the number of companies who want to become B Corp Certified.

Never heard of B Corp?

Please join our growing membership community to learn more and meet some incredible leaders of B Corp Certified companies…and some who are on the journey.

Or if you’re thinking, “we want to become B Corp Certified but need some help”  – that’s great news!

Registration for our next B Corp Accelerator opens on Thursday at 12.00 – places are limited and registration will close and our waiting list will open when we’re full.

Trust us…it’s worth looking at!

Please don’t hesitate to ask me directly if you have any questions.

 Best wishes,

Poppy
